Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a highly motivated Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in USA.

This is a technical position within the Power Delivery unit of Arcadis. The role involves coordinating and developing the Power System Planning & Study team, performing HVAC and HVDC planning/feasibility studies, interconnection studies, transient studies, and systems analysis investigations for clients primarily in North America, but also globally. The incumbent will collaborate with other departments such as Substation Engineering, Transmission Engineering, Protection & Control Engineering, and Renewables, as well as other divisions on system studies and power sector master plans. As part of the team, you will contribute to improving quality of life.

Role accountabilities:

Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects for various clients

Perform and review power systems analysis activities including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability analysis, system impact studies, and reliability analysis

Conduct planning/system performance studies and transient studies according to standards and best practices

Deliver accurate and comprehensive reports and system study deliverables that meet industry standards and client expectations

Ensure quality assurance on reports and deliverables

Coordinate with other business units and develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals

We seek a team player with excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively. The role may require up to 25% travel within North America and internationally.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s preferred

At least 8 years of experience in power system study analysis and planning

Proficiency with PSSE, PSCAD, and PSS/E software, including load-flow, short-circuit, and transient stability analysis; experience with TARA, PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools is desirable

Familiarity with North American Market Operators’ policies, regulations, and requirements (e.g., MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO)

Preferred Qualifications:

PE License

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401K, paid parental leave, PTO, holidays, and optional benefits. Salary range: $97,600 - $169,360, based on experience and location.
