Summary
Solicits new commercial business, examines, evaluates, authorizes or recommends approval of customer applications for commercial loans and handles an ongoing portfolio of commercial loans by performing the following duties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies and analyzes potential loan markets to develop prospects for commercial loans. Solicits new commercial customers and new loans from existing customers through development of a referral network and through direct calling. Interviews applicant and requests specified information pertinent to loan application. Analyzes applicant’s financial status, credit, and as appropriate, collateral feasibility of granting loan or submits application to credit analyst for verification and recommendation. Correspond with or interviews applicant to resolve questions regarding application information. Prepares Term Sheets for loan structure with applicants, including interest rates, fees, loan repayment options and other credit terms. Works with Credit Department to compile Loan Presentations. Presents Loans to appropriate Loan Committees for approval. Works with Documentation Department to prepare Loan Documents. Ensures loan agreements are completed and accurate to industry practice and policy. Assures timely loan closing and funding activities. Monitors loan payments, financial performance and collateral position of borrower in commercial loan portfolio. Requests and collects financial information from borrowers as per required by loan agreements. Visits each commercial customer’s principal place of business or primary properties on a regular basis (at a minimum or annually). Becomes familiar with all aspects of Devon Bank Loan Policy and complies with its provisions. Advises Senior Lender of external factors that may affect established lending policies, such as new or revised legislation and regulations. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to established policies and procedures. Promotes and cross-sells other products and services as appropriate to customer requirements. Provides loan data to support marketing and sales promotion programs. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements
College Diploma or professional level accounting and/or finance coursework (college degree in business-related subject preferred). Basic experience: one year experience as a Loan Officer/Loan Officer trainee in a commercial bank. AVP Level: Minimum of two years’ experience as a Loan Officer in a commercial bank.
