Senior Civil Engineer
with ten to fifteen years of experience for our DC Metro office. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm. The successful individual will work closely with our business development team and other discipline leaders in developing technical proposals and will take a proactive role in marketing/business development. This role provides the opportunity to help build and mentor a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative multidiscipline office. The candidate will be working directly with clients providing consulting services. Provide engineering for a variety of projects involving site design, grading, drainage, stormwater management systems, utility infrastructure, erosion control measures, and coordination of multifaceted projects. Collaborate with the architect, owner, and contractor to deliver well-coordinated, high-quality civil drawings. Lead design team efforts and manage multiple concurrent projects, including budget and schedule control. Develop fee and qualification-based proposals and participate in marketing/business development activities. Mentor and develop a dedicated team of engineering professionals within a collaborative office environment. Perform site grading, earthwork calculations, drainage calculations and reports, and review technical specifications. Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other civil engineering design software; perform hydrologic/hydraulic calculations and stormwater modeling (e.g., Hydro CAD, Storm CAD, SWWM or similar). Prepare and process civil construction documents and technical reports; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Contribute to business development activities and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers. Travel as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET-accredited program. Professional Engineer (PE) license in Civil Engineering. 10 to 15 years of applicable industry experience. Experience providing consulting services for internal and external clients, including Site Grading, Earthwork Calculations, Drainage (Calculations & Reports), erosion and sediment control design, Utility Layout & Sizing, Technical Report Writing, review and preparation of Technical Specifications, cost estimating; design for compliance with current applicable regulations; and general civil engineering concepts. Land development experience in design for life sciences, commercial, office, higher education, mixed-use, residential, healthcare, municipal, alternative energy (solar, BESS, etc.), and/or Federal projects. Lead project teams to complete design deliverables and develop preliminary to final design calculations and drawings. Perform site due diligence and entitlement investigation and reporting; conduct field inspections of existing stormwater facilities. Technical writing for design reports and permitting applications; desire to lead inter-disciplinary projects and project teams. Local AHJ experience and relationships are a plus; active local industry involvement is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of databases and proposal resources files is preferred. Compensation and Benefits
Approximate Base Salary – 100K-150K; salary determined based on qualifications and relevant experience. Paid overtime at 1.0 times hourly rate. Competitive end-of-year discretionary bonus based on company/team/personal performance. Hybrid work schedule (subject to change). 401k with up to 5% company matching for 9% employee contribution.
