Department Detail – The Church Ministry department supports the mission of BGEA to proclaim the Gospel to all we can by every effective means available to us, by encouraging and equipping churches and others to do the same. Church Ministry coordinators and volunteers across the US seek to build relationships with pastors by supporting their ministry in prayer and offering BGEA resources, such as evangelism training, as aids to their ministry. The Church Ministry department is also central to the Franklin Graham God Loves You Tours, by involving pastors and churches in the work of evangelism. Job Summary
– This position supports the work of the Church Ministry team with oversight of all outgoing and incoming communication efforts that support volunteer efforts for Domestic Tours and Special Projects.
Responsibilities
Develops a Volunteer Communications Plan for each Church Ministry project in coordination with the Volunteer Team Strategically plans, organizes and tracks all outgoing volunteer related communications Oversees the volunteer e-mail inboxes and phone lines to respond to needs in a timely manner Coordinates with 2 Volunteer Communications Associates who will assist in communication efforts Executes all volunteer communications (messaging, emails, text, social media) Actively promotes volunteer opportunities, upcoming events and necessary updates through all available communications means Enhances the volunteer experience through clear and effective personalized communication strategies (Day of instructions, Reminders, Texts) Supports the overall usage of Echo for the Church Ministry team to communicate with volunteers, event attendees, and others as assigned Assists in the written development of e-mail and text streams, website copy and proposed print materials Initiates and oversees call projects as needed Tracks volunteer engagement via communications Maintains cross-communication between Senior Manager of Volunteers and Community Engagement, Communications Project Coordinator, Domestic tour staff and volunteers Maintains records on volunteers in accordance with BGEA Volunteer policy Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor-level degree and/or 2+ years related ministry experience preferred Experience managing volunteers or leading large groups of individuals Strong organizational and project management skills Ability to problem solve and find effective solutions when problems arise Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in management and/or delegation of responsibilities Ability to function as part of a team while demonstrating flexibility when priorities change Demonstrated spiritual maturity and wholehearted commitment to BGEA’s statement of faith
