YouTube Producer
This is an LA based position (remote but must be available for local LA shoots). This is a temp to hire position. 3 month initial assignment, FT hours Monday-Friday
Goal:
Own each YouTube video project and Shorts—from concept through upload—ensuring a streamlined, on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities: Production Planning & Execution Translate strategic concepts into detailed production plans (write scripts, shot lists creative etc) Manage shooting schedules, crew assignments, location logistics, track budget and send call sheets. Hire and oversee on-set crew and freelance editors within budget constraints. Ensure all pre-shoot paperwork is completed (talent releases, location releases, deal memos). YouTube Shorts Creation & Uploads Source or request short-form clips from the community manager team when daily Shorts opportunities arise. Shoot, assemble, and preschedule YouTube Shorts: add captions, hooks, and branding elements before publishing. Project Management & Communication Maintain a master calendar for all YouTube content—set deadlines for each phase. (Pre-pro, production, post, upload) Run weekly brainstorms or status meetings to surface blockers and keep everyone aligned on post schedule. Serve as the single point of contact for thumbnail reviews, sending notes to designers. Communicate weekly video uploads and programming changes to the greater team. Build and maintain a detailed post-production schedule in Asana Assign editors, enforce style guides, and track review cycles to meet upload deadlines. Review rough cuts for pacing, storytelling, and brand consistency; provide clear revision notes. Finalize edits, supervise export quality, and handle the actual upload onto YouTube: titles, descriptions, tags, end screens, and thumbnails. Deliver final project files from freelance editors to Director/Editor for final archiving shared Dropbox storage system. Qualifications Digital home and lifestyle content experience Organized project management with the ability to produce many videos at different parts of the dev-production-post-delivery Creative problem solver with sharp storytelling instincts Understanding of YouTube best practices (or willingness to learn from the Strategist and team) Planning shoots, shoot budgets, edits cycles in tandem Excellent communication and people skills LA based (remote position, but must be available for local LA shoots) Seniority level
