Assistant Professor Radiology (.3 FTE) Des Moines University is seeking a passionate educator to join our team in a part-time (0.3 FTE, approximately 12 hours per week) academic Radiology role dedicated entirely to teaching. This position focuses on student learning and academic excellence—no clinical responsibilities required. What you’ll do

Teach Radiology related subjects within the prescribed preclinical curriculum (College of Osteopathic Medicine and other programs) and participate in the educational offerings of the department to include relevant organ systems, physical diagnosis, standardized patient encounters, ultrasound lab, and surgical and medical simulation. Prepare and deliver lectures to students both in and outside of the formal classroom setting. Collaborate within the department to provide curriculum framework for students on radiology rotations. Acting as a preceptor in the clinical setting is not a requirement of this role. Act as an academic advisor to osteopathic medical students. Provide guidance to students interested in Radiology careers and support applicable student organizations. Participate in the interview process for prospective DO students. Complete all University required training including discrimination/harassment and code of conduct. What we are looking for

D.O. degree from a COCA-accredited college of osteopathic medicine or M.D. degree from an LCME-accredited school of allopathic medicine. Current board certification in Diagnostic Radiology or appropriate sub-specialty boards. Prior academic experience in a medical school setting or residency training program highly desirable. Four years of experience in the practice of Radiology preferred. Faculty member is expected to maintain an active clinical practice. Possess license to practice in the State of Iowa or be eligible to gain license to practice in the State of Iowa. About the department
