Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services to include requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, sustainment, testing, validation, and issue diagnosis/resolution. Develop software using high level languages such as Java, C, C++. Work with OpenSource (NoSQL) products that support highly distributed, massively parallel computation needs (e.g., HBase, Accumulo, BigTable). Work with MapReduce technologies and ecosystems (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc.). Work with Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). Work with serialization formats such as JSON and/or BSON. Develop RESTful services. Develop software for UNIX/Linux (Red Hat versions 3–5) operating systems. Engage in requirements analysis and design of at least one object-oriented system. Develop solutions that integrate and extend FOSS/COTS products. Engage in software integration and software testing, including developing and implementing test plans and test scripts. Produce technical writing and generate technical documents in support of software development projects. Obtain Hadoop/Cloud Developer Certification or comparable Cloud System/Service Certification. Demonstrate experience in at least four of the desired characteristics listed below and experience deploying applications in a cloud environment. Develop and deploy data-driven analytics, event-driven analytics, and analytics orchestrated through rules engines. Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field is highly desired and may be considered equivalent to two years of experience. A Master’s degree in a technical field is considered equivalent to four years of experience. Note: Degrees in Mathematics, Information Systems, Engineering, or similar fields are considered technical. Shall have at least eight (8) years of experience in software development/engineering (requirements analysis, software development, installation, integration, evaluation, enhancement, maintenance, testing, problem diagnosis/resolution). Shall have at least six (6) years of experience developing software with high-level languages (Java, C, C++). Shall have demonstrated ability to work with OpenSource (NoSQL) products for distributed computing. Shall have demonstrated work experience with MapReduce and related technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig). Shall have demonstrated work experience with HDFS. Shall have demonstrated work experience with JSON and/or BSON serialization. Shall have demonstrated work experience developing RESTful services. Shall have at least five (5) years of experience developing software for UNIX/Linux (Red Hat) operating systems. Shall have demonstrated work experience in the requirements analysis and design of at least one Object Oriented system. Shall have demonstrated work experience developing solutions that integrate and extend FOSS/COTS products. Shall have demonstrated technical writing skills and have generated technical documents in support of a software development project. Experience developing and deploying data-driven analytics, including analytics with language processing, multimedia analytics, AI-related techniques, and working with massive data sets (more than a billion rows or >10 PB). Experience with taxonomy construction for analytic disciplines and knowledge areas. Experience with linguistics (grammar, morphology, concepts) and with analytics on social networks. Experience documenting ontologies, data models, schemas, data element dictionaries, APIs, and technical specifications; experience deploying analytics within heterogeneous schema environments. Compensation:
We are committed to providing fair and competitive compensation. The salary range for this position is $78,000 to $250,000 per year. This range reflects the compensation offered across the locations where we hire. The exact salary will be determined based on the candidate’s work location, specific role, skill set, and level of expertise. Benefits:
