Location: Yonkers, NY Employment Type: Full-Time Reports To : Controller We are a well-established and fast-growing construction company based in Yonkers, NY. Our success is built on teamwork, integrity, and attention to detail. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our accounting team. Position Summary The Accounts Payable Clerk will be responsible for managing and processing a high volume of vendor invoices, contractor payments, and expense transactions. This role requires accuracy, organization, and the ability to coordinate effectively with vendors and customers. Experience in construction accounting, insurance certs, including job costing and lien waivers, is a plus. Key Responsibilities Review, verify, and process vendor and contractor invoices for accuracy and proper approvals Match purchase orders, statements, delivery tickets, and invoices to ensure accurate billing Code invoices to the correct job and cost codes in the accounting system Prepare weekly check runs, ACH payments, and credit card reconciliations Track and maintain compliance documentation (W-9s, insurance certificates, lien waivers) Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner Maintain organized and up-to-date AP files (digital and/or physical) Assist with month-end close, accruals, and job cost reporting Communicate with vendors, project managers, and internal departments to resolve billing and payment inquiries Support the Finance department with administrative tasks as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred 3+ years of accounts payable experience in the construction industry preferred Knowledge of construction accounting software (e.g.,Netsuite, Quickbooks) a strong plus Familiarity with lien waivers, W-9s, and insurance compliance requirements Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general accounting systems Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Competitive compensation (based on experience) $70k Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Opportunities for professional growth in a reputable construction firm
