Position Summary
As anationally accredited program with a strong educational component in TheUniversity of New Mexico School of Medicine, the Office of the MedicalInvestigator (OMI) investigates any death occurring across the state of NewMexico that is sudden, violent, untimely, unexpected or where a person is founddead and the cause of death is unknown. The OMI, which is a special programwithin the Department of Pathology, determines the cause and manner of death inthese cases, and provides formal death certification. OMI is currently lookingfor a Radiologic Specialty Tech to join our team. The chosen candidate will beassisting pathologists with completion of CT scans of decedents for the day'sdocket. We are looking for applicants with a strong work ethic and who are ableto follow complex instruction. Candidates must be able to work in a lab settingand follow protocols for sanitation, infection control, and safety. Theposition also requires data entry and a high degree of attention to detail. May be required to submit to annual TB and rubella screening. UNM will provide Hepatitis vaccination, candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer. State of New Mexico Licensure. Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Must maintain certification status. Minimum Qualifications
Associate's degree; at least 3 years of directly related experience which may include directly related certification or practicum training. Certification/Licensure: Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of accreditation and certification requirements and standards. Records Management Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Knowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiographic, ultrasound, and/or CT scanning equipment/CT setting, x-ray exposure times, and safety parameters. Ability to calibrate and configure radiographic, ultrasound, and or CT equipment and associated facilities and devices in accordance with procedures and standards. Ability to safely lift, maneuver and physically manipulate patients. Additional Requirements
