We are hiring a Kitchen Support & Assistant Guide for our lovely Guidepost Montessori school at Magnificent Mile!
Join our warm and welcoming school community where your contributions in the kitchen help keep our students healthy, happy, and ready to learn! In this unique role, your primary focus will be on kitchen and food service responsibilities, with occasional support in classrooms as needed.
Your Role
As
Kitchen Support , you’ll play a vital role in keeping our school running smoothly each day. You’ll ensure our students receive nutritious meals and snacks in a safe, clean, and organized kitchen. You’ll also step into classrooms on occasion to assist guides (teachers) in creating a calm and engaging environment for children. Key responsibilities include: Preparing, portioning, and serving snacks and lunches according to our menu and dietary guidelines Following all food safety and sanitation standards (Food Handler’s Certificate required) Cleaning and maintaining kitchen, storage, and dining areas Managing food inventory and communicating supply needs to the leadership team Supporting mealtime transitions in classrooms, encouraging children’s independence with eating routines Providing occasional classroom support as needed , assisting with activities, supervising children, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere What We’re Looking For
Experience working with young children (preferred but not required) Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and safety A team player who enjoys supporting both children and staff Flexibility to move between kitchen duties and classroom support What We Offer
