Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Platform Engineer specializing in Apache Solr and Lucidworks Fusion to design, deploy, optimize, and maintain our enterprise search infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in distributed search engines, content ingestion, and custom search application development, enabling our organization to deliver scalable, high-performance search and data discovery solutions.
Responsibilities
Solr & Lucidworks Fusion Administration & Management
Deploy, configure, and manage Solr clusters, ensuring high availability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
Install, configure, and administer Lucidworks Fusion instances across development, staging, and production environments.
Manage core collections, shards, replicas, data ingestion pipelines, and indexing strategies.
Tune Solr and Fusion components for optimal search relevance, latency, and throughput.
Monitor and troubleshoot clustered search environments, resolving performance bottlenecks and cluster failures.
Implement data security, role-based access controls, encryption, and audit logging within Solr and Fusion.
Qualifications & Experience
5+ years of hands-on experience with Apache Solr, including deploying and managing large-scale Solr clusters.
Proven experience administering Lucidworks Fusion in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of search engine architectures, relevancy tuning, and data indexing concepts.
Experience with data ingestion pipelines, connectors, and ETL processes.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Groovy.
Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes).
Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and managed search services is a plus.
