This role leads a global Site Reliability, DevOps and AWS Infrastructure team, focusing on performance, scalability, and reliability. You will be the single-threaded owner of our cloud AWS infrastructure strategy, ensuring systems can grow with the business while empowering engineers to deliver at speed. This position combines technical leadership, architecture, hands-on engineering, and people management. You will directly manage a small team of internal and external engineers on technical direction, coaching, and contributing to the architecture and implementation of our AWS platform. What You’ll Do

Lead & Manage: Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and career development for your team of direct reports and outsourced contributors. Architect & Scale: Design, implement, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure with a focus on global scalability, high availability, and security. Infrastructure-as-Code: Deliver scalable cloud infrastructure that is maintainable and repeatable using Terraform and CloudFormation. Platform Engineering: Own and evolve orchestration platforms, enabling teams to run services reliably at scale through automation. CI/CD Ownership: Build and maintain modern CI/CD pipelines for continuous integration, testing, and deployment across multiple services and geographies. Data & Event Systems: Manage and optimize event-driven and data-processing systems including Kafka for real-time streaming and Airflow for workflow orchestration. Identity & Security: Implement and maintain Keycloak or equivalent IAM solutions for secure authentication/authorization. Enable Engineers: Create self-service and automation frameworks that empower product teams to deploy and operate services independently. Reliability Engineering: Deliver monitoring, alerting, observability, and self-healing systems for cloud infrastructure and critical services. Strategic Ownership: Drive continuous improvement in performance, cost efficiency, resilience, and platform maturity across AWS services. What You’ll Bring

8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or related fields. 5+ years of hands-on experience architecting, scaling, and operating production systems on AWS. 3+ years of team management or technical leadership experience aligning infrastructure strategies with business needs. Experience mentoring engineers, leading roadmaps, and balancing hands-on work with strategic leadership. Strong decision-making skills in fast-paced environments. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s a plus). Equivalent experience considered. Technical Expertise

AWS Core Services: EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, DynamoDB, CloudWatch, CloudFront, EBS, EFS. AWS Advanced Services: EKS, ECS, Lambda, Kinesis, MSK (Kafka), Secrets Manager, Step Functions, Systems Manager. Infrastructure-as-Code: Terraform and CloudFormation. CI/CD Pipelines: Experience with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or equivalent. Streaming & Workflow: Kafka (or AWS MSK) and Airflow. Identity Management: Keycloak or similar IAM/SSO solutions. Programming/Scripting: Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling. Systems: Linux, networking, and AWS security best practices. Nice to Have

Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Kanban. Exposure to Fastly or other CDN solutions. Background in software engineering in addition to infrastructure. Experience building a DevOps-first culture emphasizing automation, ownership, and reliability. What you’ll get from us
