Responsibilities

Support the Advanced Engineering program for the Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office (PMA-281) at Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in Oak Harbor, WA. Implement and enforce information systems security policies, procedures, and controls for US Navy systems and networks to ensure all systems maintain their Authority to Operate (ATO) and are in full compliance with DoD and DoN cybersecurity policies. Risk Management Framework (RMF) management: Assist the ISSM in leading the RMF process for assigned systems, organizations, or enclaves. Develop and maintain RMF documentation and artifacts, such as System Security Plans (SSPs), Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms), and Security Assessment Reports (SARs). Compliance and policy enforcement: Ensure that all assigned systems and users comply with USN, DoN, and DoD cybersecurity policies, including security controls defined by NIST. Vulnerability and patch management: Oversee the system's vulnerability management program, track POA&Ms, and ensure vulnerabilities are properly mitigated and resolved. Security control assessments: Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and continuous monitoring activities to evaluate the effectiveness of security controls and manage the system's security posture. Incident response: Participate in incident response activities, monitor for unusual activity, investigate security breaches, and provide mitigation recommendations. Cybersecurity support and coordination: Provide cybersecurity guidance to engineering and development teams to ensure security controls are integrated into system designs. Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including ISSMs, engineers, and government representatives. Security training and awareness: Ensure all users possess the requisite security clearances and are aware of their security responsibilities for the systems under their purview. Reporting: Prepare and present security status reports to management and the Authorizing Official (AO). Tools and technology: Manage and utilize security tools and technologies such as eMASS, vulnerability scanners, and SIEM systems. Qualifications

Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical field is required. Allowable Substitution: Experience in support of Department of Defense IT systems, specifically NAVMPS / JMPS, may be substituted in lieu of degree; DoD system administration training and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. Citizenship: Must hold U.S. citizenship as this position will require access to U.S.-Only sensitive data systems. Clearance: Must possess an active DoD TS/SCI clearance or TS with SCI eligibility. CI Poly will be required after hire. Certifications: Must hold a relevant DoD-approved 8570.01m/8140 baseline certification for the role, including IAT Level III or IAM Level II as applicable. Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in information security, with at least 2 years of specialized experience in RMF and DoD/Navy systems security. What We Bring
