Principal/ Senior Principal Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer - Northrop Grumman. Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance type: SCI. Travel: Yes, 10% of the time. This position requires full-time on-site work at either the Advanced Technology Laboratory (ATL) in Linthicum, MD or at the Annapolis Junction, MD location. Job responsibilities
Job responsibilities include leading the PDK direction across multiple technologies; interfacing with other foundry roles as a subject matter expert; mentoring PDK/CAD engineers; maintaining documentation and schedules. As a member of the team you will: Write design verification rule files Create PDK tech files Code skill-based P-Cells Edit/Integrate PDK model files li> Write scripts to automate common tasks and improve designer efficiency Review the work of other PDK engineers Maintain PDK documentation Develop and deploy robust PDK regression and release methodologies Lead PDK direction across multiple technologies Champion the implementation of best practices and task automation Interface with other foundry roles as a subject matter expert Mentor Junior/Mid-level PDK/CAD engineers Demonstrate capabilities to stakeholders and provide support for feedback and enhancements Participate in Agile project management workflows to drive projects to completion Qualifications
Basic Qualifications for Principal Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience (or Master of Science with 3 years, PhD with 0 years) in a related engineering field. Experience creating and augmenting IC PDKs for compatibility with microelectronics foundry processes Solid knowledge of Cadence Virtuoso environment and DRC/LVS/PEX within Cadence DIVA, Assura or Mentor Graphics Calibre Experience generating scripts (SKILL, Python, PERL, Ocean, Linux Shell, etc.) to provide capabilities within a CAD environment Strong analysis, design and problem-solving skills Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Must be willing to work on site 100% of the time Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required This position requires U.S. citizenship Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per business requirements Preferred Qualifications for Principal Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer: Master of Science degree in STEM with 3+ years in a related engineering field Semiconductor device modeling experience Knowledge of semiconductor process development, design, manufacturing and testing Experience taking lab measurements on PCM test structures or interpreting results from automated testing of those structures Experience utilizing the Spectre simulator to verify models match measurements Must be willing to work on site 100% of the time Limited travel to local Northrop Grumman facilities may be required This position requires U.S. citizenship Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance per business requirements Basic Qualifications for Sr. Principal Integrated Circuit Process Design Kit (PDK) Developer: Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years of experience (or Master’s with 6 years, or PhD with 0 years) in a related engineering field. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and to allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
