Purpose Statement The Production Manager is responsible for the day-to-day leadership of Factory Supervisors within a specific market sector. The role focuses on product quality, on-time delivery, and factory production efficiency. The Production Manager develops and executes continuous improvement initiatives, operational planning, product quality assurance, staff management and development, customer satisfaction, and effective communication within the factory and with site leadership. Key Job Accountabilities
Execution of Production Schedules to meet KPIs. Lead the manufacturing team to ensure strategies for metrics such as on-time delivery (OTD), scrap reduction, yield, productivity and inventory; participate in Operations Review meetings. Planning & Management of Resources. Develop and retain a multi-level, results-focused team. Drive engagement and monitor operators’ performance, including disciplinary actions. Promote cross-training to maximize labor flexibility and efficiency. Ensure Compliance to Customer Requirements and Plexus Standards. Lead root cause analysis for defects (RCCA/"why made"). Drive a customer service excellence culture within areas of control. Ensure RBA compliance and address workplace health and safety issues. Continuous Improvement and LEAN. Sponsor and drive programs to improve labor efficiency, on-time delivery, quality, and other requirements. Drive layout and 6S improvements, GEMBA tours, waste reduction, and LEAN projects. Contingency Planning & Management. Provide guidance for complex manufacturing issues. Manage direct labor staffing to meet forecast. Communicate program contributions, OTD, and improvement needs; develop contingency plans. People and Values. A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Seven (7) years of related experience is required; one (1) or more years of related experience is preferred. Technical expertise in PCB Assembly processes, SMT, RoHS, Mechanical Assembly, Lean Manufacturing, IPC Standards, and Quality Systems.
