Senior Research Scientist- California Quantum Computing, AI, Navigation Role Brief: My client is looking for several Senior Research Scientists in the following areas: Superconducting Qubits Responsibilities
Develop and implement novel methods and protocols
to address challenges in quantum hardware, including control, measurement, and error mitigation techniques for superconducting and quantum dot-based qubits Conduct research on quantum error correction (QEC) and performance optimization , leveraging control theory, machine learning, and optimization to enable scalable and fault-tolerant quantum computation Collaborate across engineering and product teams
to translate research outcomes into production-level software using tools like Qiskit, PyTorch, and SciPy Communicate and document research effectively , publish in high-impact venues, and present work in accessible language to both technical and non-technical audiences Skillset
Advanced degree (PhD preferred)
in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, with 2–5 years of relevant research or industry experience in quantum computing, quantum error correction (QEC), or qubit systems Hands-on expertise in quantum hardware
such as superconducting or quantum dot qubits, including experience with tune-up, measurement, and characterization protocols Background in numerical methods and software development , with proficiency in Python and familiarity with high-performance languages like C++, Rust, or Julia; experience developing control and measurement software for quantum experiments Knowledge of advanced techniques
such as machine learning, optimization, control theory, and QEC (e.g., surface codes, decoders, logical operations), with a track record of impactful research demonstrated through publications or presentations This is an exciting opportunity to join an industry leading Quantum company who already have some of the most exciting technologies on the market.
