As a Senior Property Accountant with Hines, you will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and timeliness of accounting information to meet reporting requirements for a specific project and/or business entity. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Work closely with applicable Hines personnel (e.g., Controller, Property/Project Manager, and Accountants) to ensure accurate financial reporting and construction draws (if applicable). Prepare funding requests to investors and lenders. Handle treasury functions including setting up wire payments for distributions, debt service, and other ad hoc wire payments. Review AR aging, assess collectability, and recommend write-offs/reserves as needed. Assist Property Management with A/R analysis for collection efforts. Record journal entries to the general ledger, ensuring compliance with GAAP or other accounting bases. Review entries prepared by others for accuracy. Maintain reporting and draw calendars for properties/projects. Perform month-end close procedures, including reconciliation of accounts. Process revenue billings and record cash receipts diligently. Verify information provided by third parties or internal groups. Review and analyze the general ledger. Prepare management fees and construction fees ensuring proper calculation and timely invoicing. Maintain fixed assets, including recording new assets and depreciation. Prepare financial statements and schedules, collaborating with property/project managers for accuracy. Prepare lender reserve, escrow, and draw requests. Research accounting guidance and draft memos on new or unusual items. Ensure internal controls are followed. Assist with annual budgets, reconciliations, and entering budgets into systems. Support internal and external audits. Prepare tax projections and workpapers. Train and support new accountants to ensure process consistency. Assist with projects, reports, and analysis as needed. Qualifications

Minimum requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution. CPA designation or progress toward it preferred. At least three years of public accounting or four years of professional accounting experience. Strong preference for commercial real estate and public accounting experience. Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks. Proficiency with systems like Oracle & JD Edwards is advantageous. Work primarily indoors; ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Willingness to work overtime as needed. Compensation
