Program Associate - Job Description The Program Associate will provide support for the grantmaking, programs, initiatives, and community engagement activities of the Foundation. This is a critical position to the successful execution of the Foundation’s impact, with a particular emphasis on supporting the First Amendment program area. The Foundation seeks a dynamic team player and resourceful implementer who can work collaboratively with staff, grantee-partners, key community stakeholders, and volunteers to maximize the Foundation’s impact. The ideal candidate will have experience in program development and planning, community engagement with diverse stakeholders, and collaborative project work in a support role within a foundation, a community-based organization or similar setting. The candidate will:

Responsibilities

Uphold the utmost professionalism; respect community ownership, organizational and interpersonal transactions, decisions, and communications. Support program administration and grant processes under the supervision of program and executive staff, including: Communicate with applicants about grant opportunities Support the development of Request for Proposals (RFP) Assist with grant application cycles (receiving, organizing, vetting for completeness, following up) Support the grant review process (assign reviewers, organize reviews, create reports) Complete grant cycle activities (grant agreements, grantee progress and financial reporting) Act as the primary administrator and power-user for grant program and allied systems Monitor grant tracking, reporting, timely payout, and accurate data entry in grantee systems Demonstrate fluency in online grants management systems or equivalent data-management and reporting experience Support community engagement activities, including organizing site visits, learning convenings with grantees and stakeholders, collaborative events with grantee partners, and assisting with Foundation-wide events including Board meetings. Assist in research and evaluation tasks, including collection and review of grantee reports, summarizing progress and outcomes for external audiences and the Board, and interpreting basic data. Assist with identifying resources and tools to advance the Foundation’s goals and grantmaking programs; work with online CRM platforms and digital project management tools (e.g., MailChimp, SurveyMonkey, Asana, Slack).
