Lead Data Scientist – Finance Analytics, Automation & AI (AAA) at The Home Depot. The Home Depot is seeking a Lead Data Scientist to lead data science initiatives that drive profitability and efficiencies for the Finance and Accounting organization. The role applies advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI to develop innovative solutions that inform financial decision-making and enable automation. Responsibilities

30% Solution Development - Design and develop algorithms and models for large datasets; select, utilize and interpret advanced analytics methodologies; communicate insights and recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical leaders and business partners; articulate impacts to drive alignment and implementation 25% Project Management & Team Support - Lead large, complex projects and teams; prioritize work and ensure quality; mentor junior staff; collaborate on workload/resource distribution; support recruiting; serve as a technical SME for data science methods; lead data science communities across business units 20% Business Collaboration - Apply business knowledge to solution approaches; build trust with internal customers and cross-functional teams; provide technical education on analytics; partner with IT to explore new tools and maintain technical agility; identify new business opportunities to leverage data science 25% Technical Exploration & Development - Stay informed on data science developments; develop replicable solutions (e.g., codified data products, documentation, process diagrams) for reuse; define best practices and a clear vision for data analysis and model productionization; own a library of reusable algorithms and document code/models; develop mastery in prescriptive modeling techniques Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older Must be legally permitted to work in the United States Demonstrated expertise in predictive modeling, data mining and data analysis Demonstrated expertise utilizing statistical techniques to identify key insights that help solve business problems Preferred Qualifications

8-10 years of data science experience, with 3-5 years in leadership or senior roles Extensive Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience, particularly BigQuery and ML services Experience with a range of ML/statistical techniques (regression, classification, clustering, time-series, optimization) End-to-end ML lifecycle knowledge (MLOps, deployment, monitoring, maintenance) Python programming for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling Finance or accounting data experience and understanding of related processes Proven leadership and mentoring abilities Education

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field Preferred Education: No additional education Experience
