Job Description – Technical Dress Rehearsal (TDR) Technician
Location: Lubbock, TX
Engagement: Contract | Nov 3, 2025 – Jan 30, 2026 (13 weeks including pilot) (Orientation/training will be Friday, 10/31)
We are looking for a Tech Lead on a Technical Dress Rehearsal Field Technician in which you would support a new healthcare software implementation. This group will be preparing for all of their workstations and devices for an Epic go-live in the new year. This individual must be comfortable working independently, working with a team, and being able to take direction to perform the tasks as needed.
Responsibilities Testing & Validation: Perform scripted workstation and Epic application testing across endpoints with a retest rate. Support with scheduling TDR Techs and provide them with a clear and concise project direction Validate peripherals including printers, scanners, badge readers, cameras, signature pads, and dictation mics. Log results consistently in Epic Hyperspace or designated tools, marking pass/fail outcomes and capturing defect details. Troubleshooting & Support Provide Tier 2 desktop-level support during testing: installing, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware/software as needed. Escalate unresolved issues to the TDR Lead and Medix’s command center; assist with retests after fixes are applied. Maintain professionalism and sensitivity when working in clinical areas.
Collaboration & Communication: Participate in daily stand-ups and debriefs, reporting progress and blockers. Communicate clearly with clinic managers and staff to minimize workflow disruption. On-Call & Flexibility Be available for evenings/weekends testing as scheduled to accommodate clinic downtime. Participate in on-call rotation to provide support and address issues during critical testing windows. Required Qualifications Hands-on skills with workstation setup, imaging, device configuration, and troubleshooting. Experience with clinical peripherals (printers, scanners, badge readers, signature pads, cameras). Familiarity with Epic or other EHR testing processes (no certification required). Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work independently in the field while following structured test scripts. Logistics & Travel On-site presence in Lubbock, TX is required throughout the engagement. Standard CST daytime hours with occasional evenings and weekends Regional/local candidates required; limited travel/mileage reimbursement available per project agreement.
