The Golden Shadow Library (GSL) is seeking a skilled and committed Board Secretary to join our founding board of directors. This is a unique opportunity to help guide the development of a new nonprofit dedicated to making healing resources accessible to all, regardless of ability to pay.

GSL will serve as a central hub of vetted providers, research, guides, and practitioners, ensuring that people can find trustworthy and affordable support when they need it most.
Role Overview
The Secretary is a key governance officer of the board, responsible for ensuring accurate records, transparent communication, and compliance with nonprofit governance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document and distribute minutes of all board meetings
- Maintain organized records, including bylaws, policies, and filings
- Support board communications and scheduling
- Ensure compliance with governance requirements and reporting obligations
- Collaborate with the Board Chair and Executive Director to strengthen board effectiveness
Desired Qualifications
- Strong organizational and written communication skills
- Familiarity with digital tools (Google Drive, shared calendars, email systems)
- Commitment to GSL’s mission and values
- Prior board or nonprofit governance experience preferred, but not required
Commitment
- Estimated 5–8 hours per month
- Attendance at regular board meetings (virtual or in-person)
- Willingness to serve an initial [1–2 year] term
