Calibration and Metrology Lead Engineer
GKN Automotive, Newton, North Carolina, United States, 28658
Job Description
Job Description A day in this role
It’s Monday morning and you’re scanning the calibration dashboard. Gage blocks due for certification, a CMM awaiting verification, and a production cell requesting an urgent instrument check. You set priorities, coach a technician through a complex uncertainty study, and jump into a cross-functional huddle to align quality, operations, and engineering on a new measurement protocol. By afternoon, you’re reviewing traceability records, refining a calibration work instruction, and prepping objective evidence for an upcoming customer audit. Before you log off, you analyze MSA results, spot a trend, and plan a small kaizen to tighten measurement capability across a critical line. About us
