Overview

At Wegmans, our grocery department houses all the essential, unique, and seasonal products that our customers need. In the role of Overnight Grocery Coordinator, you’ll work behind the scenes and play an integral part in supporting our store’s daytime operations by working with a team overnight to ensure the best and freshest items are in stock, displayed creatively, and available for customers. If you’re a night owl who enjoys working with others to accomplish tasks within deadlines, this position could be for you.

Responsibilities

  • Possess an understanding of the products offered in the department.
  • Maintain the overall appearance of the department, sustain product levels throughout the day, shrink outdated product, check expiration dates, and ensure shelves and displays are presented creatively.
  • Understand how products look and taste at peak of perfection; use core recipes and techniques to provide a consistent and quality outcome.
  • Assist in ordering and inventory processes, utilizing ordering guides to help control inventory and shrink.
  • Assist in coordinating the activities of the team, ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed efficiently, and the department runs smoothly.

Required Qualifications

  • Customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working overnight hours
  • Managerial/supervisory experience

Work Environment

The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, frequent heavy lifting, shelving of product, repetitive hand and arm movements, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers. The average weight range of items lifted is 8–32 pounds, with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens. The work environment is indoors. Basic tools and equipment used include box cutter, hand/power jack, walkie reach/hi-lo, compactor, baler, and u-cart. Collective customer service experience, internally and/or externally preferably in a food service, grocery or retail setting; managerial/supervisory experience living our values and achieving results in our 5 measures; experience working overnight hours.
