Corporate Paralegal
plays a key role in supporting Atlas’s legal operations by managing complex legal documentation, overseeing corporate governance processes, and ensuring compliance across jurisdictions. This position serves as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders and external counsel, driving operational excellence and legal risk mitigation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in contract lifecycle management, entity governance, and international document authentication—including notarizations and apostilles. This role requires a high level of autonomy, attention to detail, and the ability to lead initiatives that enhance legal efficiency and scalability. This is an office-based role in Chicago, IL. Key Responsibilities Maintain and optimize legal databases, document repositories, and contract management systems. Support legal operations projects and initiatives, including process improvements, technology implementations, and policy updates. Review and manage contracts, NDAs, and other legal documents in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel. Oversee domestic and international entity management, including maintaining corporate records, preparing board materials, and coordinating filings. Assist with regulatory compliance initiatives, including tracking obligations and supporting audits. Assist with obtaining apostilles and other document authentications for international use, ensuring compliance with applicable jurisdictional requirements. Conduct legal research and provide summaries to support decision-making. Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, HR, Sales, and other departments to ensure legal alignment. Coordinate and facilitate notarization of legal documents, including affidavits, powers of attorney, and corporate filings. Serve as a reliable point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, following through on commitments and proactively resolving issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in legal studies, Business Administration, or related field; Paralegal certification will also be considered. 6+ years of experience in a corporate legal or legal operations role, preferably in a mid-to-large organization Strong understanding of corporate governance, entity management, and regulatory compliance. Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Proficiency in legal research tools and document management systems. High level of discretion and integrity in handling sensitive legal matters. Notary Public Certification in Illinois or willingness to obtain; experience with notarizing corporate documents. Familiarity with apostille processes and international document legalization requirements. Preferred Skills Experience with legal technology platforms (e.g., CLM systems, entity management software). Strong sense of accountability and ownership; able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Familiarity with international legal frameworks and cross-border transactions. Project management experience in a legal or corporate setting. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities. Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives Proven ability to follow through on complex tasks and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
