The University of North Carolina invites applications for a fixed term Clinical Track Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Craniofacial and Surgical Care at the UNC Adams School of Dentistry and the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at UNC Healthcare. Responsibilities include didactic and clinical instruction for residents, externs, medical students and dental students, as well as participation in the Dental Faculty Practice. Maxillofacial call coverage at UNC Hospitals and the UNC School of Dentistry is required. An interest in cosmetic, temporomandibular joint and/or implant surgery is preferred. A past record of scholarly activity is desirable and the pursuit of scholarly activity is expected. Opportunities for collaboration exist within the university across the dental school, medical school and UNC Healthcare. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, leadership, patient care, service and scholarship. Responsibilities

Provide didactic and clinical instruction for residents, externs, medical students and dental students. Participate in the Dental Faculty Practice. Provide maxillofacial call coverage at UNC Hospitals and the UNC School of Dentistry as required. Collaborate across UNC Health Care and the university to advance teaching, mentoring and scholarly activities. Minimum Education and Experience

Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS), Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD), Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree. Board-certified Diplomate of ABOMS. Three (3) years post-residency/fellowship completion. Must have anesthesia training making them eligible for a NC general anesthesia permit. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience

An MD degree is preferred but not required. Additional Information
