As a member of the infrastructure team, the Network Engineer II is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance and operational support of all aspects of the LAN/WAN infrastructure consisting of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, load balancers, monitoring systems, and structured cabling. Responsibilities
Monitors and analyzes the availability and performance of the network, ensuring that it is maintained to the highest standards Recommends and implements solutions for network systems including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, wireless, and other network systems and services Responsible for the resolution of complex network problems; acts as an escalation resource for more junior engineers and other teams; escalates to more senior engineers and/or vendors as needed for prompt problem resolution Participates in incident management, asset management, change management, project management, and root cause analysis documentation and remediation Documents the technical details of the network environment and related systems and services Interacts and coordinates with clients and vendors to foster a satisfying customer service relationship Participates in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support Team player; trains and mentors new team members Required Experience
5+ years hands-on experience in the design, installation, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of multi-protocol networks Active certifications such as CCNA and CCNP preferred Large enterprise experience with a significantly complex multisite infrastructure; hospital experience a plus Firsthand experience in configuration and administration of routing and security protocols (BGP, OSPF, IPSec, SSL, etc.) Experience with design, implementation and support of the following: Cisco and Juniper switches and routers; Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper firewalls; Cisco wireless controllers and access points; Cisco Prime; Load balancers (Netscaler a plus); ForeScout CounterACT a plus Additional Information
