Overview Speech Language Pathologist - Physical Rehab - (PRN) role. The position involves developing and implementing therapeutic speech and language development programs and services. The clinician examines, tests, diagnoses and administers treatments for patients with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders and/or motor disorders, observes and evaluates diagnostic and treatment effects, and communicates results with the appropriate medical and health care staff.
About The Outer Banks Hospital The Outer Banks Hospital is a full-service critical access hospital offering a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services. The 21-bed facility is designed to meet the needs of the coastal community, whose year-round population of approximately 35,000 swells to about 350,000 in the summer season. Its campus includes four ORs, a medical/surgical unit, a labor & delivery suite with a dedicated caesarian section OR, a full rehabilitation therapy center, cancer treatment and radiation therapy center, and a 24-hour emergency department.

Position Summary Speech therapist is responsible for developing and implementing therapeutic speech and language development program and services. He/she also examines, tests, diagnoses and administers treatments for patients with speech and language disorders, hearing disorders and/or motor disorders. Speech therapist shall be responsible for observing and evaluating diagnostic and treatment effects and communicating results with the appropriate medical and health care staff.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum of Masters of Science or a Masters of Arts degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited university. All course work for ASHA certification in Speech-Language Pathology must be complete.
Must have a North Carolina license in Speech-Language Pathology or be eligible for same.
A certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association is required.
Current American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider status is required upon hire.
One Year Of Experience Preferred.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Other Information This is a PRN position without benefits.
