CBTC Design Manager

COWI . The signing teams are engaged in complex rail projects including Copenhagen Future Rail Network and Resignalling and Renewals of Rolling Stock (3XR) for Copenhagen Metro M1M2 lines. The role focuses on CBTC system design, implementation, and integration to enable safe, efficient, and disruption-free transitions to driverless operations. The project aims to transform old railway systems into a modern fully automated system (GoA4), while minimising passenger disruption and guaranteeing service availability. This role invites experts from around the world to Copenhagen in a highly skilled team. Responsibilities
Oversee the transition and integration of current railway signalling systems to CBTC, from initial planning and risk evaluation to testing and implementation. Develop strategies to minimize operational disruptions during system migration and integration activities. Define and maintain system design, including concept design, functional requirements, and integration strategies for CBTC signalling and control systems. Oversee supplier management, from tendering and technical evaluation to design, testing, and delivery in compliance with safety and performance standards. Coordinate integration with rolling stock, control rooms, and legacy systems to ensure full operational compatibility. Manage software development and testing, applying modern engineering practices and methodologies tailored to CBTC environments. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. 8+ years’ experience within CBTC system design, implementation, and commissioning. Thorough understanding of CBTC technologies, such as ATP and ATO, and associated communication protocols, and experience with UTO driverless systems. Extensive experience in writing and handling CBTC functional and technical requirements. Project management and leadership skills on a technical level. About COWI and Inclusion
