*This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 9am-6pm. The occasional Saturday shift (about every couple months) from 8am-2pm is required. Located at Scripps Coastal Medical Center in Hillcrest. We currently have one opening in Family Medicine and another in Internal Medicine. *

Your job duties:
Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practice
Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
Collecting patient data in person and by phone
Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
Scheduling of appointments and procedures
Complete and accurate message taking
Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics #LI-EE1
Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:
Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
Detail oriented
Experience administering vaccines
Required Certification/Registration:
BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)
Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
MA in an outpatient setting
