Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the safety and well-being of all associates under his/her leadership.
Works closely with production, QA and Sanitation departments to troubleshoot processing equipment and keep it operating per the operating manual.
Leads all mechanical and electrical staff to ensure maintenance and repairs are completed in a timely manner and that the plant is prepared for production.
Assists Maintenance Manager in recruiting, training, coaching, and evaluating performance of staff as required.
Assists Maintenance Manager in maintaining adequate inventory of spare parts and supplies for continuous operation during production periods.
Ensures all mechanical and electrical equipment conforms to safety and operational regulations.
Supports plant safety and loss prevention activities including training, enforcing safety procedures, accident investigations and timely repairs and improvements as needed.
Performs special projects and/or reviews as assigned.
Ensures compliance with facility and department safety rules, HACCP, SSOPs & GMPs according to Company Food Safety guidelines.
Monitors and documents maintenance activities for performance and compliance with Company standards for quality, safety, sanitation and productivity.
Leads, coaches, develops and cross-trains Team Members to deliver high-quality Operations.
Performs other duties as directed.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
In conjunction with QA Director, assists maintenance on Fire, FDA, USDA, US Agriculture, and Orange County Health Department inspections and coordinates responses and corrective actions.
Maintains all equipment in optimum operational condition.
Leads maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air for operations.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with standards.
Executes the Safety program of the Plant and leads by example.
Assists in planning, developing, and implementing new methods to improve operations and reduce costs.
Resolves maintenance problems through collaboration with management, production, warehouse, and quality assurance.
Monitors daily department KPI’s.
Position Requirements and Conditions Education/Experience/Skills
Must have basic mechanical skills.
High school diploma required.
2+ years of experience in a food manufacturing setting with knowledge of inventory and supply-chain processes.
Basic computer skills – Excel, Word, Outlook.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to think strategically and work effectively in a team setting.
Basic written, verbal, communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Outstanding attendance record.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations
Forklift certification required.
Food Handlers Certification.
