This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 2-3 days minimum per week in the office.

As a member of the Partnership Valuation Team within the Investment Accounting Department, the primary function of the Senior Associate is to support the quarterly fund accounting process with various aspects of investment-level reporting and other investment analysis.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

Able to work independently while managing the priorities of the team

Able to multi-task and work with multiple team members and cross-departmental teams

Communicates effectively both verbally and written

Passionate about providing timely, accurate accounting and reporting while balancing multiple priorities

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, willingness to learn new systems and applications

Interested in gaining exposure to a variety of private equity funds!

What you will do: Quarterly Valuation Process (70%)

Supervise data input of investment net asset values reported from underlying partnership investments in accordance with fair market valuation principles

Review work performed by Analysts

Work with other groups to obtain investment related information as deemed appropriate

Track, coordinate, and review partnerships for investment staff revaluation

Ensure compliance with document retention policies and procedures related to partnership investments

Work with auditors on aspects of partnership valuation

Develop and monitor exception based and analytical processes and reports to ensure data quality

Collect feedback from department on valuation process and implement process improvements

Coordinate to develop training materials and standard operating procedures

Systems Implementation & Support (20%)

Collaborate on Firm and Department-wide transformation initiatives to improve workflows across the team

Work with external vendors on design and implementation of new software systems

Work on implementation and testing of new IT systems and system improvements

Other Projects (10%)

What you bring:

Experience or familiarity with finance and basic accounting concepts required, partnership accounting or valuation experience highly preferred

Strong attention to detail

Experience training, managing, empowering, and leading junior staff

Ability to train and lead a team of 1 to 3 staff

Strong work ethic and collaborative approach

Education Preferred:

Bachelor of Arts (B.A) or Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Finance, Economics, or Accounting

Experience:

4-6 years of finance, accounting, and/or private equity experience
