Technical Sales Manager at The Mennel Milling Company. This role focuses on flour milling and bakery mix production, combining technical expertise with sales to grow revenue and support customer success. Job Summary
In this role, you will sustain Mennel’s tradition of excellence and support food safety programs to reliably deliver superior quality, uniformity, and service. Responsibilities
Assist in the development and execution of strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base. Identify and pursue new business opportunities within commercial bakeries, food service, and manufacturing sectors. Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships; partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives. Support clients with product demos, troubleshooting, trials, training sessions, and formulation advice. Provide technical support, product and/or process recommendations tailored to customer needs. Liaison with R&D, Quality and production teams by providing test baking, product formulations, quality support, and application solutions for customers. Analyze market trends and customer feedback for product development and market positioning. Prepare and present technical proposals, pricing, and contracts; maintain CRM records and report on sales activities, forecasts, and performance metrics. Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Bakery Science or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience. Minimum of 5 years of technical sales, preferably in bakery or food ingredients. Strong understanding of bakery processes, mix formulations, and ingredient functionality. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and food safety standards. Relationships with national and regional restaurant chains / baked goods manufacturers, a plus. Professional presence and excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with management and cross-functional teams for both technical and non-technical audiences. Strong skills in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Ability to work under time pressure and with problem-solving issues. Ability to work within a team environment and to prioritize. Ability to travel up to 50% based on customer and business requirements. Other
