Responsibilities
Lead site civil engineering design (site layout, Erosion Control, Storm, Grading & Drainage, Utilities) and production efforts for site civil engineering projects related to buildings, facilities, and infrastructure projects across diverse market sectors, including:
Residential, commercial, and industrial developments
Water/wastewater systems
Municipal and federal projects
Power and data center facilities
Serve as the Civil Engineer of Record.
Lead Permitting (Federal, State and local) efforts
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams throughout all project phases—from initial planning through construction documentation and administration.
Prepare detailed construction drawings,
technical specifications ,
engineering calculations and reports .
Manage permitting processes with federal, state, and local agencies
Provide support during the construction phase, such as responding to
RFI
and reviewing submittals
Lead and train a team of CADD designers, EIT’s, Site Civil Engineers
Serve as a Project Manager on larger projects, although project management is not the sole focus of this position
Perform complex assignments exercising judgment in evaluation, selection and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
Assist in developing scope and fee
proposals
Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in site civil/land development design for buildings or infrastructure, including:
Demolition
Erosion control
Site layout
Stormwater management
Grading and drainage
Utility design
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR/Stormwise, WaterCAD, and StormCAD.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within
fast‑paced , multidisciplinary teams.
Ability to exercise sound engineering judgement with minimal supervision.
Experience serving as the Designlead for a team of civil engineering professionals on complex land development projects
Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to prioritize
Highly
organized ,
self‑motivated, and proactive , with strong leadership skills and a commitment to delivering high‑quality, technically sound designs with minimal supervision.
Proven experience serving as Engineer of Record on previous projects .
Proposal writing experience
Prior experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
Preference given to local candidates.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projects
Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (PE or P.Eng)
Project Engineering and Project Management experience
