For over 20 years, Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital has been recognized as a TBI Model System of Care program. The Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital offers cutting-edge treatment and research focused on the recovery and rehabilitation needs of individuals with traumatic brain injuries. Jefferson Moss-Magee Rehabilitation Hospital is currently seeking a neuropsychologist to join our inpatient Drucker Brain Injury Center. This role involves conducting neuropsychological assessments and providing psychological treatment for individuals with traumatic and acquired brain injuries. The position also includes supporting families, addressing adjustment and coping challenges, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Experience in acute rehabilitation and implementing behavioral health interventions is highly desirable. Preferred candidates will have experience in educating and supporting treatment teams in the application of these strategies.
Essential Functions
Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Provide neuropsychological and psychological services in the inpatient Drucker Brain Injury Center, primarily focusing on adults with traumatic or acquired brain injuries and their families.
Offer brain injury education and supportive counseling to patients and families, aiding them in coping with life-altering situations and assisting with decision‑making processes.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of physicians, nursing, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, recreational therapy, social work, and other allied health professionals.
Assist the team in understanding the neuropsychological status of individuals and collaboratively develop treatment plans and behavior interventions.
Conduct cognitive and behavioral assessments using a variety of methods, including evidence‑based assessment tools, clinical interviews and direct observation and documenting in electronic medical record.
Engage in opportunities for supervision and teaching activities, including didactics and supervision of graduate psychology trainees.
Communicating effectively and interacting with all levels of staff, primary care providers, patients and community agencies.
Complies with hospital and Network policies regarding confidentiality. Complies with all policies related to Emergency Procedures as defined in the Environment of Care plans. Knows personal role in event of a disaster or emergency.
Education PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited university. Specialization in Neuropsychology strongly preferred. ABPP certified or eligible preferred.
Experience Licensed in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Clinical experience with brain injury required.
