Senior Accountant - Bethesda, MD

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Bethesda, MD in their search for a Senior Accountant to join their team. This is a full-time, on-site position responsible for overseeing general accounting functions, supporting the month-end and year-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements

Lead the month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely reporting

Analyze financial data to identify variances, trends, and opportunities for improvement

Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and external reporting requirements

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and other financial analyses

Support the audit process by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries

Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and ensure proper internal controls

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals and reporting needs

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with common accounting software

Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles

Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
