Summary:
The production planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements. The planner will also maximize production rates as well as manage inventory levels.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  1. Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system.
  2. Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.
  3. Analyzes safety stock requirements with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.
  4. Keep track of productivity & efficiency.
  5. Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.

Supervisory Responsibility/Direct Reports:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Conditions
This job operates in a production office environment. The employee is occasionally exposed to facility elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Effort:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Position:
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree

  1. 2 to 3 years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function
  2. Familiar with EDI demand and scheduling
  3. APICS

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Engineering

  1. 5 years of experience in a production planning/materials controls function
  2. Familiar with EDI demand and scheduling
  3. Oracle
  4. SAP
  5. APICS
