Minimum qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

8 years of experience in product management or related technical role.

3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1).

3 years of experience working with data systems.

3 years of experience working on infrastructure data sets.

Preferred qualifications

Experience developing and managing platform-based solutions.

Experience working with recommender systems, or machine learning.

Experience collaborating effectively with infrastructure teams.

Demonstrated ability to lead deep technical projects of significant complexity.

A track record of successfully navigating highly ambiguous projects, utilizing an iterative and experimental approach to define optimal solutions.

You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

Shorts’ mission is to give everyone a voice and show them the world through short‑form video. This role focuses on improving the algorithms that shape the Shorts feed for viewers, building the infrastructure that enables new users to discover Shorts and fostering deeper engagement between viewers and creators.

The US base salary range for this full‑time position is $183,000‑$271,000 plus bonus, equity and benefits.

Responsibilities

Support the infrastructure team in balancing short‑term requirements with long‑term platform strategy.

Navigate ambiguous projects by defining and executing iterative experiments to determine optimal direction.

Cultivate a platform mindset, addressing immediate needs while strategically planning for long‑term scalability and reusability.

Develop and contribute to Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) and strategic documents, ensuring alignment with user needs and Google’s objectives.

Drive product development from conception to impact, taking full ownership of outcomes and resolving issues promptly regarding product design and cross‑functional collaboration.
