Job Description Description: We are seeking an experienced, dedicated, and compassionate

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)

to join our pediatric outpatient team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pediatric therapy, with a minimum of

3 years of clinical experience

and specialized knowledge in treating children with neurological conditions, autism spectrum disorder, and other developmental needs. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans that promote mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life for our patients.

Key Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care by carrying out treatment plans developed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Implement therapeutic interventions to address gross motor skills, balance, coordination, mobility, and strength. Apply evidence-based approaches and modalities appropriate for pediatric populations, including children with neurological and developmental diagnoses. Work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to support carryover of skills into the home and community. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient progress, treatment sessions, and caregiver communication. Assist in evaluating patient response to treatment and provide input for adjustments to care plans. Educate patients and families on exercises, positioning, and strategies to support long-term progress. Support the clinic’s mission to provide compassionate, family-centered care in a fun and engaging environment. Requirements: Qualifications

Required:

Associate’s Degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program. Required:

Current state

licensure/certification

as a PTA. Required:

Minimum

3 years of pediatric outpatient experience . Required:

Demonstrated knowledge and clinical experience with: o Neurological conditions o Autism spectrum disorder and related developmental disorders. o Early development in babies Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and the care team. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and adapt interventions to meet individual child needs.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with interdisciplinary teams (OT, ST, behavioral therapy). Familiarity with sensory processing approaches. Training in specialized pediatric therapy techniques (e.g., NDT, Kinesio taping, DMI aquatic therapy, Vestibular Rehabilitation).

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift, transfer, and assist pediatric patients safely. Frequent bending, kneeling, and floor-based activities required. Active participation in play-based and movement-based interventions.
