Atum Works is a well‑funded, early‑stage startup focused on developing a revolutionary three‑dimensional (3D) nanomanufacturing platform. Founded by Caltech and NASA engineers, we are advancing the next scaling law of semiconductor manufacturing in 3D, 3D printing future devices at 1/10th the cost of today’s 2D lithography.
Position Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and detail‑oriented Lab Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in a laboratory setting, working with hazardous chemicals including solvents, acids, and bases. Proficiency in operating within fume hoods, strict safety compliance, and the ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment are essential.
Responsibilities
Prepare precise chemical solutions for surface modification processes.
Operate and monitor specialized equipment for controlled deposition onto substrates.
Conduct regular quality checks and analytical testing of process solutions and treated materials.
Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, observations, and results.
Adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to process parameters and equipment functionality.
Collaborate with engineers and scientists to optimize processes and develop new techniques.
Skills & Qualifications
BS in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or related field.
1+ year of lab experience handling hazardous chemicals including solvents, acids, and bases.
Experience with general laboratory practices and analytical techniques.
Experience working in a cleanroom environment is a plus.
Proficiency with data entry and computer applications.
Strong attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication.
Ability to multitask and work in a fast‑paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
$60–$80k (depending on experience) + equity
