Overview

Inspector Tester C - 2nd Shift (Quality) at Eaton. The hourly rate for this position is $22.30 per hour + $2.50 per hour shift premium. The core hours are 3 pm - 11 pm. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. This position offers a sign-on bonus of $2,000*, paid in two installments, less applicable withholding.

This position is located in Waukesha, WI (Badger Dr.). Salaries are general guidelines and depend on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly inspection of transformers/regulators at various locations in the assembly plants per established procedures.
  • Perform electrical testing on assembled single and three-phase transformers/regulators per established procedures and monitor conformance to quality standards.
  • Perform routine factory dielectric tests per established procedures, including OX (induced), QC impulse, and hipot (applied potential).
  • Perform routine factory loss tests per established procedures, including load loss (winding loss) and no-load loss (core loss).
  • Perform power factor, ratio, and resistance tests per established procedures.
  • Perform operational tests on regulators as required and conduct continuity tests on units per established procedures.
  • Follow routine tests, inspect unit nameplates, stamp impedance value on nameplates, and secure nameplates to tested units; perform visual inspection on interiors upon completion of testing.
  • Perform minor maintenance of test equipment and special routine tests when required.
  • Perform all responsibilities of the Inspector, including visual inspection of units throughout the assembly process and related tests per established procedures (ratio, resistance, leak, continuity, control box, insulation resistance, regulator sub-assembly, regulator modification, regulator run-in).
  • Apply decals and stencils to exterior of units and perform paint mileage checks as required.
  • Assist Engineering and Manufacturing in identifying and resolving shop floor problems.
  • Complete various company forms to communicate inspection status and document inspection results per established procedures.
  • Collect various types of data per established procedures as required.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Education in AC/DC fundamentals or completion of electricity coursework from an accredited institution or a minimum 1 year of experience in electricity.

  • Ability to work overtime when required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 LBS; bend, twist, grab, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, use both hands to lift and lower materials, and perform all other essential duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
