Job Summary

The Audiologist assesses, identifies and manages disorders of the auditory system in neonates, infants, toddlers, school-age children, adolescents, and adults to age 21. Methods of assessment include pediatric behavioral audiometric techniques, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions, brainstem auditory evoked response testing, and central auditory processing testing. When a patient is identified with hearing impairment, the audiologist assists in recommending an amplification system, shares pertinent information with the child and family, referring physicians, and educational specialists, and provides follow-up services when indicated. #STC
