Job Description Summary / TWC Summary: The Data Analyst for the Aviation Program is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting key data that supports Institutional effectiveness, accreditation, compliance, and strategic planning.

The analyst will lead the preparation of monthly Operational Readiness Reports, Quarterly Aviation Accreditation Board International (AABI) submissions, Title III reporting, and Three-Year Assessment data for academic performance and program outcomes. In addition, prepare safety and performance reporting to TSU Aviation partners.

Essential Duties Summary:

  • Operational Reporting: Compile and submit monthly Operational Readiness Reports, including flight operations, simulator usage, Instructor hours, and student progression.
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to safety, flight training hours, aircraft availability, and maintenance metrics.
  • Accreditation & Compliance: Prepare and submit quarterly AABI reports, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with accreditation standards.
  • Support Internal and external audits by maintaining documentation and data for accreditation and regulatory compliance.
  • Grant & Title III Reporting: Provide detailed data analysis and reporting for Title III grant programs, including performance indicators, funding outcomes, and grant impact assessments.
  • Collaborate with the Title III office to ensure timely and accurate submission of required reports.
  • Assessment & Strategic Planning: Lead the compilation of Three-Year Assessment Reports, tracking academic trends, graduation rates, employment outcomes, and student performance.
  • Support the program’s strategic planning efforts by providing data insights, forecasting, and trend analysis.
  • Data Management & Visualization: Design dashboards, charts, and visualizations to communicate trends and performance metrics to faculty, staff, and university leadership.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity by validating sources and maintaining standardized processes.
  • Conduct surveys of recent graduates of the aviation program.

Education:
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Aviation Management, Business Intelligence, or related field
Preferred: Master’s degree or professional certification in data analysis, institutional research, or a related field.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.
  • Demonstrates full command of technical and functional principles, procedures, and subject matter in multiple disciplines to handle any situation and lead or train others.

  • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), spreadsheets (Excel), and database systems.

Work Experience:
Required: At least 2 years of experience in data analysis, preferably in higher education or aviation-related fields
Preferred: Experience with aviation operations, flight training data, or familiarity with FAA/AABI standards.
