About the Role
Improvix Technologies is seeking a
skilled and forward-thinking GCP Cloud Engineer
to join our Federal IT team in Washington, DC. In this hands-on role, you'll help architect, deploy, and manage
secure, scalable, and mission-critical cloud solutions
in support of a high-impact federal customer.
You'll work alongside talented engineers, security professionals, and government stakeholders to modernize systems, automate infrastructure, and bring DevOps best practices to life - all within a trusted, cleared environment. What You'll Do Design, build, and maintain
secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure within
Google Cloud Platform (GCP) . Develop and manage
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
using Terraform, Deployment Manager, or similar tools. Support and optimize
CI/CD pipelines
with GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build. Collaborate with
developers, cybersecurity experts, and government partners
to streamline deployment workflows. Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance to ensure
uptime, reliability, and SLA compliance . Implement
federal cloud compliance standards
(e.g., FedRAMP, NIST) and enforce best practices for security and governance. Contribute to documentation, automation scripts, and internal knowledge sharing to support continuous improvement. What You Bring
Active Secret clearance
(TS preferred). 4+ years of cloud engineering experience , including at least 2 years working in
GCP
environments. Strong hands-on expertise with
Compute Engine, Cloud Functions, VPC, IAM, GKE, and BigQuery . Experience building infrastructure with
Terraform, Ansible, or Deployment Manager . Working knowledge of
CI/CD tools
such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, or Cloud Build. Solid understanding of
Linux administration, networking, and containerization
(Docker/Kubernetes). Experience supporting
Agile/Scrum
development environments. Preferred Skills
GCP Professional Cloud Architect
or
DevOps Engineer
certification. Experience supporting
Federal Government programs
and ATO processes. Familiarity with
AWS or Azure
cloud platforms. Scripting experience in
Python, Bash, or Go .
