Overview Senior Data Analyst at Apex Fintech Solutions (AFS). This role bridges business analysis and data engineering with a focus on supporting cloud migration initiatives. You will transform financial data into actionable insights and contribute to the transition from on-premises systems to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role combines business intelligence, financial analysis, and cloud data management to drive informed decision-making in a fast-paced fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities Cloud Migration Support: Map and document current on-premises data sources, workflows, and dependencies to support migration planning
Validate data integrity and consistency during and after migration to GCP
Collaborate with data engineers to redesign data pipelines optimized for cloud architecture
Identify opportunities to enhance data capabilities through GCP\'s advanced analytics tools
Support testing and verification of migrated data systems to ensure business continuity
Create documentation and training materials to help business users adapt to new cloud-based tools
Data Analysis and Reporting: Gather, analyze, and interpret business and market data to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements
Design and maintain dashboards and reporting systems in cloud-based environments
Track performance metrics and KPIs to evaluate project success and business performance
Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for leadership and stakeholders
Develop financial models to support decision-making related to client profitability, revenue forecasting, and cost management
Data Management and Processing: Create and optimize data pipelines for business intelligence and analytics purposes in GCP
Ensure data accuracy, quality, and consistency through validation and cleansing techniques
Collaborate with data engineers to improve ETL processes and workflows
Document data processes, sources, and transformations for business users
Implement best practices for data governance and security in cloud environments
Business Partnership and Project Support: Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams during the cloud migration process
Translate business requirements into cloud-based data solutions and analytical frameworks
Support cross-functional projects by providing data-driven insights and recommendations
Identify opportunities for process optimization through data analysis
Collaborate with sales teams on modeling and projecting growth metrics
Qualifications Bachelor\'s degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Finance, Economics, or related field
5+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a similar role
Strong proficiency with SQL and relational database systems
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Data Studio)
Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling techniques
Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.)
Analytical mindset with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities
Basic understanding of brokerage services, financial markets, and fintech practices
Adaptability and willingness to learn new cloud technologies
Preferred Qualifications Experience in the fintech industry or with financial systems
Previous involvement in cloud migration projects
Knowledge of Python, R, or other programming languages for data analysis
Familiarity with data warehousing solutions and ETL processes
GCP certifications or training
Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, etc.)
SIE or Series 7 certification
Previous experience at a Broker Dealer (Introducing or Clearing)
Project management experience or certification
