The supply chain data science optimization role will support optimization initiatives through the development of forward-looking analytics, including data exploration, decision modeling, statistics, measurement sciences, and machine learning operations. The main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and productionalizing customized optimization models that enhance supply chain replenishment by balancing constraints, variables, and cost considerations. This role requires a deep analytical, technical, and complex problem-solving skill set with expertise in mathematical optimization, statistical analysis, and advanced modeling techniques.
The Data Scientist will collaborate with Decision & Data Scientists to translate business challenges into well-structured optimization or machine learning (ML) problems. Additionally, they will support foundational efforts such as data exploration, feature engineering, hypothesis testing, and baseline modeling, and play a key role in selecting and implementing the appropriate analytical approach.
This position is remote, allowing work from anywhere in the United States except Hawaii or U.S. Territories.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Data Scientist, you will be expected to: Collaborate with Decision & Data Scientists in researching data sources, data cleansing, feature engineering, and baseline modeling. Independently lead the formulation and development of optimization and/or ML models. Design, implement, and refine mathematical programming models (e.g., Mixed-Integer Linear Programs) to solve large-scale, real-world supply chain problems. Own the delivery of milestones in the ML development lifecycle. Assist in delivering complete machine learning-based model solutions from inception to implementation and rollout. Mentor Associate Data Scientists in data science knowledge and stakeholder interactions. Share responsibility for the entire code lifecycle. Navigate through extensive codebases for troubleshooting, debugging, and improvements. Contribute to coding standards and enforce sound coding practices across the team. Create and maintain documentation of ML models, data sources, and methodologies. Assist in creating feasibility documents. Participate in R&D, recommending, and implementing process improvements or new methodologies. Share knowledge through presentations at internal team sessions/workshops. SUPERVISION
