Job Summary Supervises the clinical staff in the Occupational Health and Occupational Medicine clinics. Supervises nurse practitioners responsible for patient evaluation, testing, diagnosis, plans of care, and treatment within a clinical department or specialty practice area. As a supervisor, receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the processes by which to attain them. Additionally supervises the MA, LVN and registered nurses responsible for triage of occupational injuries, employment physicals, staff Return to Work eligibility, and immunizations and health screenings. Generates the Health Screening compliance reports for leadership, Joint Commission and CMS surveys. Oversees outreach and special projects. Keeps clinic staff and site licensure up to date. Additional clinic and supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $144,200 - $350,000 (Annual Rate). Department Description The Occupational Health Services Department provides occupational injury, pre-employment, immunization and health screening services to the UCSF Health and campus employee population.
Required Qualifications
Three (3) to Five years’ Nurse Practitioner experience
Master's degree in nursing or related area
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise a team and to manage the complex workflow and competing priorities involved with providing quality care as a nurse practitioner.
Solid knowledge of the clinical and operational issues for nurse practitioners performing advanced-practice nursing within departments and specialty areas, including evaluation, testing, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as patient-care concepts, policies, outcomes measurement, quality standards, ethics issues, quality improvement, and continuing staff education and professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
One (1) to two (2) years supervisory experience or demonstrated leadership and project/program management in APP role.
Strong knowledge of human resources management policies, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document staff issues and performance, and to participate in decision-making on human resources matters.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly analyze problems, determine appropriate level of intervention, and develop and apply effective solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations with all levels of clinical staff and management, consultants, researchers, and outside agencies.
Solid written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to train and mentor subordinates, convey complex clinical and technical information in a clear and concise manner, and to prepare and present a variety of reports, documentation, analyses, and project proposals.
Knowledge of clinical and administrative software and specialized applications and data management systems used by nurse practitioners in providing advanced-practice nursing care, research, documentation, and employee supervision.
License/Certification

National certification as Nurse Practitioner
