Overview Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Psychiatrist‑ER to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals System / South Brooklyn Health. South Brooklyn Health is a redesigned health care campus featuring the new 11‑floor Ruth Bader Ginsburg Hospital that provides emergency care, modern labor & delivery suites, and state‑of‑the‑art surgical services. The new Health & Wellness Institute offers outpatient services—from primary and preventive care to specialty services for children and adults—all designed to keep our community healthy and accommodate more than 250,000 outpatient visits, more than 89,000 emergency room visits, and with 371 beds, more than 15,000 inpatient admissions annually. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and NYIT College of Osteopathic Medicine to provide high‑quality healthcare delivery standards and teaching opportunities.

Responsibilities

Participate in activities related to clinical care and documentation of care, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, and student education.

Report to the Director of the Psychiatric Emergency Room and the Department of Behavioral Health Chairperson.

Participate in our innovative integrative care activities.

Flexible schedules: Weekdays, Weeknights, or Weekends.

Qualifications

Board Eligible or Board Certified Psychiatrist

M.D. or D.O. from an accredited school of medicine

Completed residency training in an accredited program within Psychiatry

License to practice medicine in the State of New York

Proven ability to make sound and quick triage, treatment, and disposition decisions

Experience working with an underserved patient population is a plus

Wages and Benefits Annual Base Salary: $255,900 (board eligible); $266,200 (board certified) based on a 40‑hour work week. Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.

The annual total value of the compensation package is estimated at $420,590 (board eligible) and $434,920 (board certified), which includes baseline salary, 401(k) contribution, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors as set forth below:

Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.

Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.

401(k) company contribution (subject to IRS limits): Employees are immediately vested 3% of base earnings; after one year of service, an additional 7% of base earnings.
