Payroll Specialist (Temporary Assignment)
PSC Group is seeking a hard-working, dedicated, and focused Payroll Specialist to join our office in Baton Rouge, LA. The Payroll Specialist ensures accurate processing and recording of employee payroll, prepares timely and accurate financial information, and provides excellent customer service to employees. Work Schedule
Monday - Friday (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM / 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM / 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM) Job Duties & Responsibilities
Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages. Determines payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments. Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information. Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests. Maintains payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Completes any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job. Job Qualifications
Must have experience working in a payroll processing position. Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus. Proficient in MS Office; strong knowledge and experience with Excel is required. Experience with ADP and Kronos is a plus. Excellent customer service skills. Strong attention to detail. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines on a consistent basis. Maintain high level of confidentiality and professionalism. 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S. Stable work history with good references from past employers.
