Overview Subject to the medical protocols established by Concentra and in cooperation with other physicians assigned to a clinic or center, the Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner provides primary medical direction, coordination of professional medical care, and occupational health services.
This is a PRN role (Monday‑Friday, 8‑5) with coverage required for Concord and Walnut Creek.
Responsibilities
Examines patients, compiles patient medical data and results of examination.
Administers or orders diagnostic tests such as X‑ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests.
Interprets diagnostic test results and identifies deviations from normal.
Performs therapeutic procedures including injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, and infection management.
Instructs and counsels patients regarding therapeutic regimens and health maintenance.
Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in the provision of continuity of care.
Assists in development and revision of policies affecting medical practice judgment and quality of occupational health care.
Contributes to educational and instructional program development and presentation.
Provides excellent customer service to all patients, clients and peers while incorporating Orange Book values.
Maintains accuracy in documentation, quality assurance checks, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Manages time, prioritizes, and multitasks in a busy clinical environment.
Adapts to changing business needs such as scheduling shifts when appropriate.
Seeks opportunities for clinical training and self‑development to provide quality care.
Communicates effectively with patients, clients, supervisors, and peers, incorporating Orange Book values.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related health field from an accredited college or university.
Licensure in the state of jurisdiction.
Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program from an accredited university.
Board Certification.
Occupational Medicine experience preferred; otherwise, training available.
FMCSA NRCME completed prior to start; Concentra will provide CME for those not yet certified.
DEA registration required prior to start date.
Job‑Related Experience Customarily has at least one year of demonstrated experience in occupational medicine, urgent care, or an emergency setting.
