Salary Range: 112,800.00-150,400.00
Job Description The Legislative Assistant will support the organization’s advocacy efforts by assisting in legislative and regulatory tracking and research, stakeholder engagement, and policy analysis. They will register to lobby with the US federal government and contribute to shaping and advancing the organization’s policy priorities through research, outreach, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Legislative & Regulatory Monitoring and Research
Track and monitor legislation, regulatory actions, and committee activity relevant to the organization’s interests.
Conduct background research on policy issues, including trade, export controls, technology, and national security.
Prepare weekly legislative summaries and policy impact briefs for internal distribution.
Assist with drafting internal memos, talking points, and briefing documents for senior leadership.
Stakeholder Engagement
Assist in scheduling and preparing materials for meetings with congressional staff, federal agencies, trade associations, and coalition partners.
Lobby US Congressional and US Administration agency staff.
Attend hearings, briefings, and stakeholder events to gather intelligence and report key takeaways.
Qualifications REQUIRED
8-10 years government, trade association or think tank experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, or related field.
Skills
Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.
Familiarity with federal legislative processes and regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legislative tracking tools (e.g., PoliticoPro, BGov).
Preferred
Experience in a congressional office, federal agency, or advocacy organization.
Understanding of US Congressional and agency legislative and regulatory processes.
Bipartisan House and Senate relationships, including with leadership and committees.
Experience supporting congressional outreach or coalition-building efforts.

Compensation & Benefits Details
The salary range is based on education, qualifications, and experience. The range may be modified in the future.
If your position is non-exempt, you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws.
You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under Western Digital’s Short Term Incentive Plan or the Sales Incentive Plan and may participate in the annual Long-Term Incentive program.
We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid vacation time, sick leave, medical/dental/vision insurance, life and accident insurance, and the Western Digital Savings 401(k) Plan.
No amount of pay is considered wages or compensation until earned and vested.
